This lab would not exist without Stefania Spanò, without her intelligence, vision and persistence. She was an excellent scientist and mentor. And, among her great skills, there was also an uncanny ability to attract excellent and passionate people and build a great team around her.

A dreadful destiny has snatched her from us too early, but her discoveries and ideas, her passion and enthusiasm are still living and flourishing with us.
